Saturday October 23, 2010 the Austin Green Energy Group teamed up with The Trail Foundation, TreeFolks, Inc., and over 100 Austin volunteers to collaborate with the Urban Forestry Program of the Austin Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) to plant these trees so they can grow to shade, beautify, diversify the trees at the Trail at Lady Bird Lake and sequester carbon at Longhorn Shores.
The City of Austin observes Arbor Day in late October each year to kick off the prime planting season which lasts from October through March to make a substainable difference in our community.

At 9 AM Saturday morning seven Austin Green Energy Group members (Bernie Johnson, Clara McGee, Beth Davis, Mike Brumleve, Sandy Brumleve, Sally Staford, and Marco Cameron) joined over 100 concerned Austin citizens to help improve our environment.

The Austin Green Energy Group is committed to enhancing our community and protecting our environment through activities that preserve and conserve our natural resources and will continue support environmental activities that fulfill our mission.
